Out and About! Trains! Travel!

I’m ready to board the train for travel eastward to Chicago. After a short lay-over there I will board train #59 toward New Orleans. However, I will stop short and off-board at Hammond, Louisiana. A portion of the train bridge close to the Bonne Carre Spillway was washed out this past Monday so there is no train travel into New Orleans. It washed out just 2 hours after a north bound train passed over it and reported that it was awful bumpy and wobbly! Think there are some LUCKY AMTRAK passengers out there that don’t even know that they came close to going into the flooded swamp of Lake Pontchartrain!

Just some neat pictures of trains and or train stations… hope to take more as I travel cross-country and will add here after my travels.
